Tour of the Forêt de la Courbe (VTC loop)
This tour is suitable for budding cyclists (very easy). It extends over 36 km which you can explore by 2h30. It is made up of 80 % of cycle paths, making it an excellent plan for family outings. You'll follow the ocean as you pass through La Courbe national forest. For your information, this magnificent forest covers almost 8,000 hectares. A beautiful walk in the heart of nature, not far from the sea, awaits you.
Between the two estuaries
This route is accessible to all (easy difficulty), of 38 km which you can explore by 3 hours. The walk takes place between the salt and fresh Seudre rivers. You'll also pass by the river at Saujon.
Nature's marvellous ingenuity has created a labyrinth of water squares and channels along its banks. During your journey, you can take a short break at the port of l'Éguille. It's a magnificent spot with a beautiful view over the Liman Channel and the Seudre.
The Gironde estuary and hillsides
With this circuit, we'll be moving up a gear (difficult). A truly sporting route awaits you. Your bike will take you through 63 km in around 4 h 30.
As you drive along the roads of the Gironde Estuary, you'll be able to admire the region's countless vineyards. Gourmet breaks You're sure to forget the difficulty of the route, with tastings of honey, lamb from the estuary, snails, melon and more.
Tour Royan Atlantique
We're going to round off our selection of bike rides to discover Royan in style. Rather difficult, This circuit covers 143 km to cover in 3 days. So you'd better be very well prepared mentally and physically to take part in this bike ride.
You will discover landscapes of the 23 municipalities in the area. The walk starts at the Saujon tourist information centre. The route takes you to the heart of the Grande Côte pine forest. You'll also discover seaside resorts that inhabit the region.
Cycling around Royan: practical information
If you don't have a cycling to St Georges-de-Didonne, you can of hire one from specialist shops accessible on site. In fact, they're not far from the Ocean Vacances campsite.
